Of course, I'd still say Manning/Brady are 1-2 for QB talent in the league, and nobody else is challenging, yet.

since these guys arose, other guys have challenged them, but injuries or other things have slowed them down. 2 examples being McNabb and Palmer.

Re: Peyton, he's obviously ridiculous. As I've said before, it's folly to punish him 100% b/c his team hasn't won SB's, but it's also folly to completely ignore it 100%.

You can't simply ignore the fact that in 2003 (Patriots), 2004 (Patriots), and 2005 (Steelers), he vastly underperformed in the playoffs as compared to how he performed against those same teams in the regular season that very year. I think that playing your best in the biggest games has to count for something, and up until now, Peyton has fallen short in this category.

All that said, he has plenty of time to make up for his shortcomings in this regard, and he is on the very short list of best QB's ever.

Of course, Brady has not played his best in some of these big games either, but his defense and ST have carried him.

Palmer was better than Brady this year.

Brady certainly was not great this year. I think playing with a whole new set of WR's hurt him, and I also think it's possible he was playing hurt.

Either way, yeah, he wasn't spectacular
