To The Gold Defenders,

Have you reevaluated your position after this episode? Gold instacalls a c/r of over $26k on the turn, then thinks and folds the river. How do you justify that hand?

I think Gold keeps trying moves that work against weak players, but fail miserably against good players.

The poker I liked.....and I'm usually very tolerable with the antics. But it seemed like they did the set up of Gabe coming in to play for 7 minutes. Then the rest of the show were all these little comments about it.

I thought Gabe played good and showing the bluff against Chen was nice. I also wished he showed Mikey the KK hand.

I realize that you have to mix up your play a LOT against these guys, but open-limping with K5 suited, and then being the lone caller of a raise when you're OOP? Huh?

Are the fundamentals of a few of these players that bad?

Chen is so predictable with his big continuation bets, that I would think he would be a target for these guys. But it was a great episode, though I agree some of the theatrics took away from the poker. Hopefully it settles down a bit next episode.

Btw, I don't think you can give Gold enough credit to say those moves work against weak players. The way he played the KJ hand is bad by any standard, but you had to love Doyle setting him up by checking to him.

I think he wanted to show the table a little unconventional play for meta game reasons (and to show off for the camera).

Didn't he call the river after thinking for about a minute? If he'd folded then it would have been a good laydown.
