Maybe cheaper now that it is off-season. I don't think there are any minimum playing requirements and they take reservations at the poker rate. Won't hurt to call and see what they will do for you.

Has anyone else had this experience? I had always heard that you had to play really high to get a Taj poker rate, so I've never actually tried to stay there.

I'm not positive, but I know that at the Borgata getting the poker rake is strictly a matter of hours played(IIRC it was 5 hours/day) and had nothing to do with stakes. At least thats the way it was exactly one year ago when I went for the last Winter Borgata Open.
