[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] HUD bots are leeches on society who produce no wealth. Nor do they provide enjoyment or entertainment in return for the money they take. ... [/ QUOTE ] I'm sorry, how is this statement any more or less accurate if you say "Poker players" instead of "HUD bots"? [/ QUOTE ] In live play there are many winning poker players who are likeable personalities at the table. They bring entertainment value to the table while they take money away. They help the game progress quickly and smoothly. The same is true at a lesser extent for some winning online players. They may keep light-hearted chat going, they don't play nit-tight, they act promptly, and they may try to defuse tense table situations when the loose players are being attacked in chat. A HUD-bot, on the other hand, practically never chats, unless it's to berate someone who sucked out on his aces. A HUD-bot frequently plays nit-tight, and at the same time frequently holds up the game even when faced with an easy decision because there are so many tables to keep up with. But the HUD-bot still makes generally good decisions at all those tables with the help of the stat displays. So, yes, I think a distinction can easily be made in which some winning players do contribute entertainment value to the table. HUD-bots do not, and their non-chatting, slow playing, nit tight table presence is often of negative entertainment value. The fact that a HUD-bot spreads these unpleasant characteristics across many many tables only makes their collective table presence worse. Yes, there is a difference. B. |

It's just annoying that Euro players are generally not so active during peak American hours.

Almost every post you make is bitching about tight online multitablers and how it's not fun to play online because of them. But seriously what do you expect? Do you expect them to intentionally play badly? Do you blame them for trying to maximize their hourly rate? To be 100% honest they don't give a damn whether or not you're having fun playing, they just want your money. Sure this might not be 100% best for long term sustainability of online poker, but nobody thinks like that. Also you are not a "pure" fish, you know of 2+2, know of poker literature and software, etc. The majority of true 100% fish do not. [/ QUOTE ] And you wonder why Tuff Fish doesn't seem to give a damn about you? OP's post is pretty spot on. |

[ QUOTE ] Online poker is going to be real -ev for Americans real soon. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] True. i do actually feel for my brothers-in-spirit. Just be thankful that European will have our own little ponds to feed in. the 2 most profitable sites are non-US sites IMO, so it's clear that euros and others suck, or at least are not so tight as americans |

Hi Tuff,
Thanks for posting. [ QUOTE ] BTW, why is everybody so concerned with depositing? I thought all you winners did was withdraw. [/ QUOTE ] Glad you asked because I can see how this would be a very confusing issue for you. The only way to learn is to ask questions and that is what you are doing. Some of us really don't have to deposit. Just worried depositing issues because we want other recreational players to be able to keep playing. Personally, I have enough on my Stars account where it will take a really massive down-swing of suckitude for me to have to deposit again. Not that I'm not capable of such suckitude. For other players on here, they have learned how profitable it can be for even the lowest stakes of players to chase bonuses at various sites. Obviously for such bonus-chasing players (which I have done as well) it is imperative to have easy access to one's funds to ship back and forth amongst sites. For such players this will be significantly more difficult now. You do understand that much, right? Some people do take advantage of all the free money that's out there. But now it will be tougher to do so. You could have been doing this too and it would have at least partly covered your losses. A half-decent bonus-chaser can be just a break-even player at the table (or worse) and still be profitable. You'd be a fool not to take advantage of this if you aren't good enough to make much of a profit in the games themselves. Huh? You were losing at the tables and you were just too proud to take advantage of all the bonus-chasing opportunities that were out there. Oh well, looks like you missed out. Could have made back several thousand of the dollars you lost in those games. All kinds of helpful people on 2+2 showing you how to do it and where the best bonuses are for those who are willing to listen. Again, thanks for asking your question. Always glad to help in times of confusion that such complex issues may bring. |
