Yeah...I wouldn't say Harrah's say-so makes a tournament a world championship...certainly not a "true World Champion"ship. [/ QUOTE ] Well as long as there isn't an organization (that is accepted by the majority of players) to make the rules for a setup for a "World Championship" we have to live with the fact that the WSOP claims to be the "World Championship". So having only one WC per discipline is better than having several so called WC's just because they won a bracelet. Maybe the WPA can step in and be the organization to make sure a World Champion is really a World Champion? Shadow |

The $1500 event sattelites start with 1500 chips, 15 minute levels, starting at 25/50. They last an hour and a half, tops.

To the poster way above, i'm assuming that the omaha/stud hi/lo tourney is omaha 8, since I have seen that played in tournament format before. Sometimes known as OE

So, what is the format of the Mixed Holdem events? One orbit of Limit, followed by an orbit on NL, or what? Thanks... [/ QUOTE ] My guess is that it starts out as limit then switches over to no limit at some point. There is precedent for a format like that. The old Tournament of Champions was a mixed rotation of limit games before switching over to NLHE, as did the 50K HORSE last year. The first live tournament I ever played in was limit hold em for the first several levels, then switches to no limit. |

I have to say, this year's schedule is downright superb. I wish they'd gone a little easier with the low-buyin events, but I think that's a small price to pay for a well-varied event. It's hard to believe that this comes from Harrah's even with the advisory board. I'll give an A++ all around.
