Definitely talk to the company you're working for about getting hired directly. If they try to fire you you could run some BS line about complaining to the Department of Labor or the state wage & hour division about them not paying you on time. I'm not a lawyer and not well-versed in such matters, but not paying you for 4 weeks is really sketchy and might be illegal. I doubt anything would come of it, but you might be able to alarm the right person.

[/ QUOTE ] Even if your new company LOVES you that could be more troublesome than it sounds... if the company you are working for does hire you permanently they have to pay an obscene amount of money to the temp agency... like 30% of your first year gross pay... it is possible to negotiate that down, but some companies won't wanna deal with the hassle or cost... also, your temp agency will never fire you for missing a day unless the company u are working for complained so there must be something else going on... I'm not really sure what's goin on... somethin definitely seems "off"... gl and hope it works out |

Are companies allowed to hire people who are fired from temp agencies?
If so, it may be better to get fired by the temp agency and get hired directly by the company. This way, they dont have to pay the 30% salary crap. |

[/ QUOTE ] nope no good.. in your temp contract it says yer not allowed to work for any of the companies you have ever been placed with for like 6 months after u leave the temp agency edit - it MIGHT even be that yer not allowed to work for any company the agency has a contract with regardless of whether you ever had an assignment there or not... don't remember |
