[ QUOTE ] Ravens and Chargers are 1 and 2 right now, and there's not much difference between them. After that there's a bit of a gap and the Pats then Indy. [/ QUOTE ] You'd really be surprised if NE won in SD next week? [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't be surprised, but the Chargers have to be favored. |

I cannot wait for the day that everyone gets off the Pats jock. Everyone still seems to think they are unbeatable. People made excuse after excuse when they lost to Denver last year.
I'm expecting a Chargers victory next weekend, as long as Rivers doesn't have another 1-10 for 9 yards first half. |

[/ QUOTE ] i'm a pats fan who picked baltimore to win the super bowl this year. i think indy loses at baltimore and even if the pats beat the bolts they'll have a tough time coming into baltimore and beating them too. that said, the pats D matches up pretty well with the chargers - front 7 is nasty, they're decent against the run and you can guarantee they will throw something whacky at rivers. your 'as long as...' scenario is something the pats have been able to create against better quarterbacks in the past than rivers. i hope harrison's back. i like the bolts BTW and i hope they go all the way if they beat the pats. |

[/ QUOTE ] Well, the reason that the Pats lost to Denver last year is because they turned the ball over 5 times. I really didn't hear anyone saying anything different. |

[/ QUOTE ] The 11-7 2005 New England Patriots are not the 13-4 2006 New England Patriots. That Patriots team was 17th in points allowed, this one is 2nd in points allowed behind only the Ravens. In fact, this team is probably the second best team in the Patriots dynasty, only behind the 4th-ranked offense and 2nd-ranked defense of the 17-2 2004 New England Patriots. |

The 2003 patriots were probably better, comparatively, than this current team. While Tom Brady wasn't amazing back then, their defense was really, really damn good that year.
You know what, I do think this team matches up very well against the Chargers. They can handle the run, they can attack the Chargers secondary, they can confuse Rivers. The Chargers have home field, and they're better though. I'd put the line at -4. |

I think I would actually pay $ just to watch both AFC games next week. Some great matchups going down
