SB will be on the hand for sure and to do that he has to raise to put BB on so I will have to call 1200 (1100). [/ QUOTE ] Yes. And when BB calls, you call and are 70% or so to get at least 3rd. When BB folds you fold and are at least 50% to get at least 3rd. |

lol @ this thread. i mean really. moving in here with KJ is a fairly large mistake. it's probably even the worst option amongst the three. c [/ QUOTE ] I totally agree, pushing is sooooo bad here. I fold 100% here. Calling is slightly less bad than pushing only because there is a remote chance that SB is folding, but it is sooo remote... |

Calling is clearly the best option here, and you don't even really mind if SB pushes (assuming he's doing it fairly wide).
If SB does push, you fold if BB folds and call if he calls. If SB merely calls, you're checking everything down but the nuts. |

Tell me why SB would merely call?
It would be an idiotic move since with a min raise it will put BB all in!!! your logic is not realistic. |

Landon,
You have now incorrectly answered this question and SNG Question #3. Are you sure you play SNGs for a living? |

This thread should have ended after Blackize's first post.
Why are all these people who never post in STTF arguing with multiple people who have posted thousands of times in STTF? |

What it boils down to is that this is a rare(ish) late-game situation where it's not correct to push because of the BB's stack in the blind. It's an absolute catastrophe EV-wise if you were to push, SB were to call, and BB were to fold.
You have to play the hand because you'd like your KJ up against the BB's random hand, but as mentioned above, pushing could potentially result in disaster. If BB is willing to sacrifice 600 of his 700 chips (if the action were to go call-push-fold), you're more than willing to give up 600 of yours as well since his reduced stack would be much more precarious than yours. |

[/ QUOTE ] the reason completing is idiotic is that it prevents SB the chance of gaining a huge pot when both BB and button fold...and raising costs him very little. the reason some SBs will merely complete is that they want to keep button in the hand to gang up on BB. this is very wrong, but many think it's right, and do it. |

[/ QUOTE ] this is probably the worst post of the thread. no one cares that you are master of the STTF. further, no one should consider a poster's logic any more or any less because of who they are. a post can stand-up or fail based on its content alone...rep of the poster is irrelevant. get a life. |

Is it that tricky? Looks like a straightforward call. SB is a good player so he isnt going to let BB have a free look at the flop, but he could fold if you push and youd much rather have two hands against BB than one. SB is also unlikely to push because winning the rest of your stack doesnt have nearly the value of minimizing BBs chance of surviving the hand and being all in next hand
