Default Remembering cards

I'm trying to become a better stud player and I want to know if there is a method to memorizing cards that have already been out?

I have my own method, but I'm way too lazy to type it all out right now. It's pretty good for people who aren't blessed with an eidetic memory.

I'll post it tonight after that new poker show on NBC.

There are a couple of excellent posts by DocAZ linked in the FAQ. The FAQ are really a cracking read. You should check them out.

IMO, it comes with experience, but I'm sure there are other good posts on the subject as Andy has pointed out.

FWIW, there are some folks in this world (and on this forum) who like to play 6 tables of stud at a time, if that is the case & you act once it is folded around to you while you're at another table, then card memorization is a moot point.

Practice makes (im)perfect.....

but close enough.

When I multitable I typically don't auto-post the ante so I go to the table when it pops up and ante so I dont miss any cards....see if my cards look playable and if not just hit the fold box and go to the next table. If so, then look at the upcards and see if I'm live and am going to play, depending on the action of course, and if so then give it a quick memorize high to low and take note of a lot of a suit out...it just comes naturally after playing a crapload of hands. I typically only do 2 tables at full tilt since you can't resize the tables, but can do more if there is less overlap. If you are playing low limits, there won't be too much memorizing to do as 3/4 of the cards will still be face up on the river
