David an ethical gambling question,

You are at the final table of tournament you have Td9d UTG and fold. Eventually two players get all in pf one with aa and the other with kk. The board blanks off until the river which is the Td. Should you say something to the dealer?

Should anything change if one player has TT and the other AA?

Does which person is the shorter stack affect your decision?

Lately every event drags out to 6 or 7 days. Do you like this? Or would you rather have them last only 3 or 4 days max? What about the other pros?

David,

I think you would have a better chance of becoming a World Champion at Tournament Blackjack than at any poker game, given a good, deepstacked tournament structure.

The reasons are that in tourney blackjack you need to be able to make quick good mathematical and logical decisions, two skills where you have an edge on your opponents, where in poker there are more other skills ( ablity to spot tells, pshychology) required, where the toughest of your opponents may have an edge on you.

Dont you agree ?

Any thoughts on tournament blackjack ?

Would you ever play "The Cash Game"?

Someone walks up to you and says, "I bet $1000 I have more cash on me than you have on yourself". That's the only rule to the game - assume the game is 100% legit.

A)If you would take the bet how much cash might you need to do so?
B)Would you ever play if instead of $1000 the stakes were all the cash you had on you?

Do you play poker online? If not, why? If yes, what do you think about it in 10 words or less.

None of the questions are turning me on. I'm not sure why.

If you could play a game where losing meant you would die instantly and winning meant you would live in your current state of health for as long as you wanted (immortality for those who want it), what % chance would you need of winning for you to elect to play the game?

I don't know if this has been asked, but I'll do it anyway:

Say you are given random numbers consecutively from the set of reals, and you are given N (fixed) of these numbers in total, one by one. At any moment you can stop and "win" the current number as score. The objective is to get the highest score.

Is there an optimal strategy?
How does it depend on N?
Does it matter when there is an upper or lower bound to the number range?

(I guess you can see where this is heading... is this a "hard" problem? I suppose it must be documented in economics literature)

I'm not DS, but...

This problem is meaningless without bounds. For example, imagine you're reached the N-1 number, and the value you recieve is 10. There are infinite real numbers less than this, and infinite real numbers larger. Therefore you have an undefined EV.

If you place a lower bound and upper bound on the real numbers this problem is solvable by working backwards from the N-1 case.

So I'd answer,

No, in the unbounded case.
Not really. Only factor is how close you are to N.
Yes.
