As for beating the bots generally (as a site), I wonder about the following things being significant deterants:

1. Limit multitabling. Accomodations could be made for players that have met certain strict verification standards, and anything shady could put your multitabling ability at risk.

2. More vigorous identity scrutiny.

3. Just like casinos have someone protecting the game, these sites need to do the same. If we can multitable, surely they can have someone watching a few tables and instigating chat, capcha's, and generally monitoring for threats to the integrity of the game. This will cost them less than Ed Millers doomsday scenario would.

4. Bot and collusion data detection flags as part of PT software, or similiar, so that we are alerted when the same player sits out SH, always at table when cheater2 is at table, whatever else. The idea is that we help police the sites with data to back it up. We are clearly doing a better job.

5. Organized protests to get the sites attention on the bot topic.

6. Where would Vegas be today if they let every Winholdem creator or operator prance around happily posting his achievements on public forums? That's all I'm saying. Theres no school like the old school.

As for the posters above who doubt they are bots, on three consecutive orbits I was in the SB, bot in BB. I wish I could find the hand histories but I don't feel like looking for them. From my limited play with the bot I reported it was very easy to predict it's actions. In the BB it would raise with any suited cards or any paint. It would the bet no matter what hit.

I thought about this and came up with this crazy play called the check raise. We were 5 handed and I asked the other 3 players to fold to me because I was going to war with the bot. For three consecutive orbits SB vs. BB, I reraise in the SB, check raised flop, turn, and river (notice the bot never rerasied, but bet when I checked to him allowing me to check raise every street) Result, bot folded to river check raise 2 twice and showed down A high once. I SHOWED air each time. Please someone explain to me that a real person plays like this, after I had stated in chat that I was going to do this.

Below is the response that finally came from AP, and that player (LN8268) was not on the site last night. I haven't checked yet today. I think that the solution here is to describe specific bot-like actions in multiple emails as I did and they will finally take action.

Thank you for choosing Absolute Poker; it is a pleasure to be of your assistance.

We appreciate you notifying us about what happened at the tables.

Please note that we started an investigation and we will follow the proper protocol to guarantee that this incident does not occur again. It is against our policy to reveal anything about another player or a player’s hand, so the actions taken against those suspected customers cannot be discussed with you. However, I thank you for bringing this activity to our attention.

If there is anything else we can assist you with please let us know.

Sincerely,

Kent

Someone make a list and I'll sit down and play with all of them. If they look supsicious I'll be happy to send more emails to the security and see if we can't get them booted.

Please DONT report these bots. They are awful players and once you figure out their betting patterns(there are less than a dozen), you will be rewarded. I play the 10-20, and 15-30 and I know of several bots that play those limits. Let's just say I would like them to stay, as they are giving me the most money.

It is bad for the game as a whole to have bots playing.
Do you see why?

Are you saying you play $10-20 at Absolute and there are bots playing? I log about 20k hands at month at that limit, and I haven't noticed them. Names please and data to back up claim that bots are playing that high. Thanks

I was looking at the other thread about bots being a problem and it certainly is scary, I was so surprised to see just how many people were willing to try and cheat to win at poker (just look at the forum on the winholdem site). Surely sites like this should be shut down.

We need to find a good hacker to get in and create chaos on that site and every other bot site. Stop these cheats now!

I see where you are coming from, but that is purely a selfish prospective. What about all the new players at those levels that this could spoil the game for? no no no! IMO report them immediately.

Well done JB.. every credit to you mate. I believe there is a list of some of the suspected bots on the first page of tis thread.

Keep up the good work!!

...the one man mission to destroy the absolute bots....
