I see the point you are making and its obviously a good idea. The problem is that most of the low limit players will not come onto forums such as this and if they are continually being beat at the lower limits becuse of these bots, then the bots are spoiling the game for potential new players and therefore, as mentioned above, stopping these players becoming more serious and creating more cometition at higher levels.
There is also the moral side of this issue and that it is simply cheating and if these bots have been known about for quite a while then why the hell has nothing been done about it? Its an Absolute disgrace (no pun intended!). These sites have a obligation to protect their players from such things and so should have dealt with this matter a long time ago. why am i not the least bit shocked by this. absolute is rigged and has been since day one. the only way to make a decent profit at that site is with rb and bonus, and even then it's a small one. i'll never trust a site where my AA loses to someone else's AA at a sh table, coupled with the myriad other atrocious and unlikely beats i've taken there.

What actually happened to make you so bitter scraggs? I started playing there around 1 month back, started running very hot and then it seems to dried up a little and I have been on the end of some bad beats (got beat on a one-outer and also a two outer yesterday, both on the river and both times got all the money in on the turn!!) But I guess thats just poker. Its not that I am worried about though, its these named bots on the site, that people have reported to the support and nothing has been done.
The original poster had some good ideas and I went to those limits to try them out, unfortunately there were either more than 3 bots at a table or the other players were not interested in trying to flush out these cheats. The good thing was that a few people have now taken that information in and are going to pass it on to other players! Absolute, you need to deal with this before players start losing faith in your ability to control your own site! |

As for the bot email, two things come to mind as possible explanations for ABS CS: 1. I suspect that the majority of emails about bots are of the "OMG Rigged!" variety, as the tables there have historically been tighter than other sites. 2. As I read through I got the impression they were kind of hinting that the questioned player was a prop, although 14-18 hours of fours tabling, if true, sounds more bot like than prop like. |

As for beating the bots generally (as a site), I wonder about the following things being significant deterants:
1. Limit multitabling. Accomodations could be made for players that have met certain strict verification standards, and anything shady could put your multitabling ability at risk. 2. More vigorous identity scrutiny. 3. Just like casinos have someone protecting the game, these sites need to do the same. If we can multitable, surely they can have someone watching a few tables and instigating chat, capcha's, and generally monitoring for threats to the integrity of the game. This will cost them less than Ed Millers doomsday scenario would. 4. Bot and collusion data detection flags as part of PT software, or similiar, so that we are alerted when the same player sits out SH, always at table when cheater2 is at table, whatever else. The idea is that we help police the sites with data to back it up. We are clearly doing a better job. 5. Organized protests to get the sites attention on the bot topic. 6. Where would Vegas be today if they let every Winholdem creator or operator prance around happily posting his achievements on public forums? That's all I'm saying. Theres no school like the old school. |
