[ QUOTE ]
Uh yes it is. The differentiation between a "set" and "trips" is a fundamental of hold'em. If you cannot grasp this concept, then you are an idiot. If you have a straight, do you say "I have a flsuh"? No, its the exact same thing here. Trips and sets are 2 completly different hands. Don't get it twisted. [/ QUOTE ] pg. 593 of Super/System II. Iin the section about how to play small pairs... "I play small pairs cautiously...I won't put a lot of chips in the pot unless I flop trips. And when I don't flop trips with a small pair..." Doyle uses the term "set" and "trips" interchangeably. It just doesn't matter, and I don’t get why you’re making such a big deal out of it. |

i agree completely. i hate it when people call one the other. but it's a nice indication that they are self taught players and not sophisticated/educated correctly. i think that's what we're all learning about "the top players", watching the way they play and carry on. very unimpressive play. |

Shiekan is an idiot no doubt and definatley is not playing up to the cameras. I watched the the ME at the WSOP this year and players were taking their seats then all the sudden this guy comes running in from the back and tries to jump over the rail. He kicks me in the process and does not say a word about it. He could have easily just used the side door like most of the other players but the guy isnt that smart. I was like, "Who the hell was that [censored]?" the people around me all shook their head. btw, funny thing, one of them was Tiffany Williamson's friend.
I hope he goes broke. |

[I think this is my first post here]
This is quite easily the most entertaining poker show that has been produced to date. Listen with headphones, and you can catch alot more of the players talk, which is the most entertaining part of it. |
