Creating a Wikipedia entry

Has anyone ever done this before? I would like to submit an entry into the Wikipedia database, but am unsure as to how to do it, and do it properly.

Advice?

look at the post counts of some of the people on this board and youll realize how much free time people can have.

Well, we're actually trying to make an entry about this friend we have. 3/4 it being a joke, 1/4 for real.

Yea, wikipedia is no joke. Those people watch it all the time and something that is clearly a joke or doesn't belong won't last. Don't waste your time.

i was actually wondering this today. can wiki's be made for non famous people? like could el diablo have a wiki since he has made a lot of somewhat important points here and they could be compiled and that could be a reasonable wiki? or do they have to be famous to the general public? i guess im just wondering what the guidelines for this would be.]

wouldn't that wiki page then end up revealing his identity?

i imagine if there was a 2+2 page on wikipedia, you could certainly have a section on notable posters, but i doubt that's something a lot of people around here want to see happen.
