BUUMMMP.

It's kinda weird. I wouldn't say I'd given up, but I sure wasn't trying really hard. I was still walking to the bus stop, and trying to eat well, but I wasn't hitting the gym and I wasn't keeping a strict diet. I was at about 320ish.

Then a couple things happened.

1- I kept getting dehydrated, so I starting making a point to drink a lot more water. I was drinking out of this big pickle jar at home, and probably 4x-ed the amount of water I drink.

2- Really more in the name of controlling cost moreso than eating, I bought some cereal, yogurt and granola bars and made that my breakfast at my desk every morning instead of hitting up the stop n rob next door.

3- I just got back into a pattern of cooking meals instead of going out.

Still, I was slipping, still making some bad choices, and feeling bad about myself. I'd just bought a car and had been driving to the park and ride instead of walking. I'd avoided the scale for months. At some point right before thanksgiving I was like "[censored] it, let's see what the damage is" fully expecting to have put on some weight.

311.

WHOA.

A lot changed. I liked the way I looked more, I started noticing that clothes fit/looked better, I was just feelig a lot better about myself.

Realizing that I'd actually lost weight functionally without trying made me focus a lot more on the things I could do to pick up the pace. I've been hitting the gym (just 30 minutes of cardio so far per session, going to work on getting weight training involved next week).

Somehow over thanksgiving I lost more weight (lots of walks, not lots of eating). The next test is obviously xmas, and that'll be hard. Still I'm hoping to ride this good feeling and keep making progress. For the first time it feels like I really turned a corner.
