In no particular order, admittedly many of these are mainstream indie-like sound, but then you get the added bonus of acceptance by the indiscriminate masses around you:
Warren Zevon Death Cab for Cutie Postal Service The Shins Interpol Radiohead Bloc Party Decemberists Not fitting the category but one of my favorites nonetheless Something Corporate, some nice Piano driven-rock with a pretty good edge to some of the songs. |

I totally back the Neutral Milk Hotel, the Mountain Goats, and the Emiliana Torrini recommendations.
Great Indie Soundtrack (and movie for that matter): Pumpkin Other Good Bands: Love Camp 7 The Clouds Thou Thirteen Senses Creeper Lagoon Olivia Tremor Control The Papercuts Portastic The Kinks The Merediths Spoon Also, I only saw one Velvet Underground song on your list, you definitely need more. And don't forget, if you want to be a true indie kid, you need to make sure everybody knows you heard of these bands first [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]. |
