I don't really follow soccer, so if there's a seperate champs league thread I'm sorry.
Arsenal - Porto has the shortest ever odds to be a draw this week. Obviously both sides need a draw BUT the odds have never reflected this much before. The draw price is usually around +280 in these situations, +335 otherwise. It's approximately -120 this week. Expect a dire game unless there's a goal very early. Lori |

I saw those odds literally minutes ago and I was extremely surprised. I won't bet it because there's so much odd stuff that could influence that result, but it's very interesting.

I went down the Pub to watch City vs Watford. The worst game of football I think I have ever seen and I remember watching City in the second division. If any one saw that as their first ever game of football I couldn’t fault them for deciding to never watch a match again. I think city managed about 4 passes before losing the ball all match I don’t think Watford did even that. If that’s the best Watford has to offer they can’t stay up this year.

Can FIFA allow this? A ruler of a country buying a team?
Either way, be interesting to see Liverpool fans view of Chelsea. |

Can FIFA allow this? A ruler of a country buying a team? Either way, be interesting to see Liverpool fans view of Chelsea. [/ QUOTE ] Meh, I am a grown man. Adequately cynical in other words. Football is big business, and foreign ownership is not new to the premiership. As a non-scouse, non-briton 'pool supporter I dont care much for the anti-foreigner sentiments some have anyways. I am glad we got this money, and I hope we will continue to go about our business in a sensible, ethical way. And as for Chelsea, I always thought the criticism of 'all that money' sounded hypocritical - especially coming from the fans of big clubs like Liverpool and Man U. Besides, it takes more than just money to succeed. (Though you wont get far without it) PS: It is not the ruler itself that is the buyer, but DIC, a consortium. |
