Oops, I did some reading and I'll ahve to check out the original version. I thought that an inferior cover(by someone other than Elvis) was the original version.

Hard to believe that Cash's version of 'Hurt' is so much more popular than the original, which isn't bad. Most of the tracks on Cash's cover album are just brutal to listen to, since it's obvious his voice is gone. My vote is 'Dancin Days' by Stone Temple Pilots, a cover of the Zeppelin song.
