[ QUOTE ]
I don't know for sure, but I would assume it's part of his contract with FT. [/ QUOTE ] From what I gather there are no contracts that say they must play lower limits. They are supposed to play a certain amount of hours though. I think a lot of the pros just enjoy playing low limits for the socializing and having a good time. |

The pros at FT often play the low limits. I don't know whether it's part of their contract to do it in order to promote the site, or whether they just do it for fun. (Another more cynical reason I heard is because it's not them, but their wives/girlfriends using their account).
I played Phil Ivey a while ago at $0.5/1 7 Card Stud. The waiting list was about 40 deep when I logged on, but I managed to get a seat in about an hour. Alot of people on the list gave up waiting and never took their seats when they came up. I've also seen Chris Ferguson multi-tabling play money tables as well. |

My guess would be just to have fun, and maybe give the low stakes players a cool experience.

I've been able to play and converse with people I respect and admire, who normally play in a game where the big bet is about equal to my bankroll. Imagine being able to play long toss with Ichiro or Vlad Guerrero.
It's a really cool feature of the site. |
