about 99.9% of police brutality videos I have seen, 1 thing they all have in common. When they try to put the cuffs on the badguy, THEY ALWAYS RESIST!

What if he kicked one of the cops in the nuts real hard right before they knocked him down?

I would like to say that there might be a lot more context to the situation that might have led the cops to do this OTHER than resisting arrest (like him beating a little kid in the face or something) but the report says that all they charged him with was resisting arrest so...
