Default Re: Give up three of a kind. Has villain always got a full house?

i think this is a check on the turn, and then call the river or bet if he checks. Qx is going to call at most one more bet, so my line doesn't lose you anything against Qx, and you're more likely to get a bet out of him on the river than on the turn b/c you're showing weakness on the turn and b/c his call on the river will get to showdown.

he may have a flush draw, in which case you'd rather bet the turn, but there's some chance villain will bluff the river anyway, and you don't lose anything with the check (assuming villain would've called your turn bet).

the tough thing about the hand as played is that you're often chopping. villain can have a lot of different 7's from the sb, and only a7, k7, q7, and 97 beat you. so i actually don't hate the river call, but it probably should be a fold. but if you don't bloat the pot on the turn then you can play a medium sized pot where your hand will play a lot better.
