Playing in a 300max NLHE 5/2 blinds, live
I have $160 behind. UTG bets $25 I'm next to act and look at Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I make it $60, the rest of the table folds. UTG calls Flop: J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG checks I go all-in for $100 UTG instacalls Turns over A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I heard people at the snickering when he turned over the nuts, but I'm not so sure I could have played it any better. Unless going all-in preflop. I was ss. |

Uhh, reraise much more preflop. Make it like 85, or just shove... In this instance neither of you are ever folding so it's an autostack hand, but in general your reraise is far too small.

In a live 2/5 game I push and expect to get called by 55+

Don't minraise preflop. Given stacksize, push.

OP: Make it 115. Yes, 115.
If he has KK/AA, You are getting stacked no matter what. If he is calling the 3 bet with 22-QQ, you are getting in on any flop anyway. If he sets up he sets up. If he calls with AK for some reason instead of pushing, and folds a missed flop, that is severly +EV for us. What im saying is that basically, after we reraise pf, we are getting AI on any flop, no matter what. So maybe if we can make villains make a huge mistake calling pf, even with just a part of their range has to be +EV for us. |
