Best way to build a small roll through MTTs?

I was big fan of the $3(R) on PS, my ROI was thru the roof in this tourney. But that tournament isn't offering as many seats as it used to. The $11 DS are great for BR building. Satellites have a flatter payout meaning that it's more dificfult to go thru a long dry spell. A perfect solution for a small BR.
