Default 10/20 at the Borg, AJo - Keep firing?

The child in this hand made fun of me after it was over, which was annoying since I didn't think it was that bad.

10/20 at the Borg. Game full of passive fools.

Folded to Hero in MP1 who raises with AJo, folded to CO who cc, old man in SB Calls, BB(woman who loves to chase draws and does not like me) calls.

Flop: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Hero does not have a club. Hero bets, CO calls, SB folds, BB calls.

Turn: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Hero Bets, CO calls, BB calls

River: T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Hero checks, CO checks, BB checks.

My reasoning for betting the turn was that I didn't want to give either of these goons free cards for their probable draws. I checked the river because it looks like no on got there, they are probably passive enough to check through, and I will win if my read is correct. Also, I don't think I fold out a better hand with a river bet. Good?

Perfect. Firing the the turn is mandatory here. You could still have the best hand.

Yeah good play. Wondering what the outcome is a little further down the road though. How is the 10/20 game at the Borg usually though. Im coming up to NYC this winter and am targeting probably the 10/20 at the borg or the taj as my games. Is the action way better on the weekends or what. You can pm me with an overview of how things are up there, that would be cool.

this is all standard. the tougher decision is whether you are calling a bet from either of this two on the river.

Yeah, I agree. I'm leaning towards calling, but the game is rather passive... a call is probably close to 0 EV, maybe slightly in the red.

Loose passive players at the Borg 10/20 will peel the flop with a very wide range of hands. You are likely best, so betting is good.

The turn card is fairly innocuous and you have outs to improve if behind. Betting is fine, although check/calling would not be terrible.

You are correct that a better hand will not fold the river.

Whatever. Borg limit games are full of retards. Yesterday at the 80/160 game I open raised in a shorthanded game UTG+1 with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and got multiple callers.

The flop came 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Bet, call, call, fold.
Turn came 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], I announced to the table that my open raising range includes all hands with a 3 in them and Bet, fold, call.

River was the 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], bet, raise, raise, raise, call. I chopped with a guy who had coldcalled preflop with 72 offsuit, who proceeded to complain that I had outdrawn him.

Yeah, 72 off. Good preflop call sir, great call on the flop with bottom pair no kicker, and nice hand. I just got lucky against you.
