Default How profitable is being a large poker affiliate?

How much money am I missing out on? not that i plan on setting up my own scheme, i won't... i'm just curious how much people actually make.

Say you have a poker blog with a reasonable audience of like 1000 hits a day.. you put up a party poker banner and maybe like 20 people play under your bonus code (just guessess) how much you expect to make???

i speculate like 5k a month?

An active player rakes for an avg of $50 per month. Should all of the 20 players you refer become active you cant expect more than xx% of $1000.

Was looking along similar lines - thanks for the average RakeRebate.

One further question, is there any industry 'rule of thumb' about what % of players become 'active' and what the average timespan for remaining active is??

Would be great to know whether the raked or per player method would suit me best.

Many Thanks,

$50 a month is all? Is that the average or median?

Huh, I thought I was a small fry...

It also depends on where you market.

When I did PartyPoker free $50s that was about right for my active players.

Almost all my active rakeback players avg a lot more than that.

I am pretty curious as to how many $2K+ MGR players are still being tracked to their original non rakeback affiliates and how you could market to current 2K+ MGR players w/o having to give them Rakeback. 10 of them and you are making a good living.

All players that generate a nice amount of rake will not play without rakeback. Rakeback pays for my rent and utilities... how sweet is that.

I had 120 Party players and was making $1300 per month. What happens is you have many players who come and go depending on the season, but there will be a small handfull (5% or so) that generate your higher volume.

Of course, now that Party has gone on tilt as a result of the US legislation, not only are they going the way of the Dodo, but they take down all of their affiliates with them.

P.S. I was making $1800/month on my own rakeback too.

That is very untrue. I played 30-40K hands a month, without rakeback for 1.5 years. I BARELY stubbled upon rakeback/2+2. I'm sur I would eventually find both, but I mean, for 1-5 years you could get big players like that.

Not true. I know several NL2000 players that don't get rakeback.

There are plenty of high-limit players who simply are not tuned into these types of things.

I played on Party for 2 years without it simply because I was uneducated about the idea of rakeback. I saw the ads with rakeback calculators and even plugged it my numbers and it said "we will pay you $XX/month!" I thought "yeah right, SCAM!" I signed up at Absolute under an affiliate 2 weeks ago and now have over $1,250 in MGR ($350 in rakeback) plus $450 in bonus cleared. How many THOUSANDS of dollars did I miss out on over the last few years?
