I want everyone in Small Stakes to read this. Every time you bemoan a bad run or variance, reread this. Good players don't attribute good results solely to skill but everyone else does. The logic of this post is why games are good.

im glad your able to use my ignorance as an example for other players dave.''winning poker players....objectivley analyze how they and thier opponants play, accept responsibility instead of putting all the blame on bad luck, work hard on thier game, and ask thier friends for critical comments''. if i honestly take responsibility for my losses and not blame it all on bad luck, why isnt it the same for winning?

about 3 weeks ago, everything i studied came togather on a table with mostly lpp's and one certified pshyco. i was able to position myself2 seats to the left of the maniac, and the other players were fine with letting me isolate him. i doubled what i had in about 4 hours.

am I missing something? 'everything came together', '4 hours', 'doubled up', 'not blame it all on bad luck, why isn't it the same for winning'.......

i think what dave and eagle were trying to tell me is that luck was the major factor in my winning session, and poor play and ignorance was the major factor when i busted. thier probably right.

I think that what I was trying to say was that you got lucky and won 100BBs one night. Then you got unlucky and lost 100BBs another night. Twice. Plain and simple. Oh, and since you were underbankrolled, you're out of poker money now.

Most likely Dave is done talking to you directly and instead trying to use this thread as an opportunity to point out stuff to the forum members who are actually open minded enough to learn new stuff. Dave's approach is better than mine.

I was being sarcastic in my post and agree with everything that dave is saying. basically, it's important to understand that good sessions and bad sessions have almost an equal amount of luck involved. the important thing though, is that if you just focus on playing good than this will manifest itself with good luck winning you more bets than bad luck is losing you. maybe, a bad analogy, but hopefully gets the point across.

for whatever its worth, i also agree with everything dave and eagle said. i find it a little disheartening that luck plays much more of a factor than skill.
