Absolute BS call by the refs.
[ QUOTE ] Forward and Backward Pass ARTICLE 2. a. A forward pass is determined by the point where the ball first strikes the ground, a player, an official or anything beyond the spot of the pass. All other passes are backward passes. When in question, it is a forward pass rather than a backward pass when thrown in or behind the neutral zone. b. When a Team A player is holding the ball to pass it forward toward the neutral zone, any intentional forward movement of his arm starts the forward pass. If a Team B player contacts the passer or ball after forward movement begins and the ball leaves the passer’s hand, a forward pass is ruled regardless of where the ball strikes the ground or a player (A.R. 2-19-2-I). c. When in question, the ball is passed and not fumbled during an attempted forward pass. [/ QUOTE ] |

WVU/Louisville's argument for the NC is entirely dependent on how well they pwn up their schedule. If they do what Utah did in 04, they deserve it. If they play it too tight, they don't, and they probably won't get in the NC anyway.
This is shaping up to a very interesting season, and maybe a very good argument for a 4 team playoff. |

I think some of this depends on the nature of the games. Outside of this Cincy game, no one has been close at all to Louisville. Even though they're my least favorite team in the country, if they can continue to rampage through their schedule (and if they beat WVU handily), and some of the other 1 loss teams show strong signs of weakness (umm, USC?), I could see myself pulling for the cards.
Right now I'd pick a 1 loss team though. |

So here's what the title game contention looks like:
USC-Cal from the Pac-10. OSU-Michigan from the Big 10. Auburn-Tenn-Florida-LSU from the SEC, depending which teams survive and by how much. WVU-Louisville from the Big East. Texas from the Big 12 if they win out. It's pretty muddled right now, some games will clear things up. |

You forgot Michigan.... [/ QUOTE ] no that would be retarded because if OSU goes undefeated, they will beat Michigan on the last week so I doubt Michigan will go to the championship game |

Basically, whichever 1 loss team wins the SEC championship game should go to the title game against the OSU-Michigan winner.
