6-12 weeks is better than never. JetSet was a very nice small and friendly site. I'm just glad I only had a couple hundred bucks in there. We will see what happens |

Just received this
Dear xxxxxx, We deeply regret to convey that we shall be discontinuing service at JetSetPoker (the "Site") effective Midnight EST on Friday, October 13, 2006. Initially, and as per our previous statement, we were cautiously optimistic in maintaining operations for our membership after the passage of the "SAFE Port Act HR 4954" on September 30, 2006 by the Senate. We nonetheless initially believed it to be practicable. However, given the developments during the preceding week, including but not limited to, the unfavorable view of payment processors and financial institutions regarding online gambling and the extensive advice of our legal counsel, we have been instructed to cease activities and comply with this prohibitionist legislation. We were fortunate to have a first-rate membership and it was our pleasure to provide a destination site where members were able to enjoy their favorite card games and tournaments with the surety that we were to buttress the integrity of the forum. In this inclement environment however we believe our ability to do so may become impaired nor do we anticipate this matter to improve in the near future. JetSetPoker shall remit remaining balances via cheque. Please respond to [email protected] and provide your accurate name and mailing address to initiate the cheque disbursement process. We once again thank you for your patronage of JetSetPoker and deeply regret these unfortunate circumstances that have materially and adversely impacted both the Site and the industry. Best regards, JetSetPoker Management Team They edited the email previously posted to include withdrawal info. No timeframe but at least it looks like they are planning on paying up ... So long JetSet...
Some of my casual/recreational poker playing friends are going to be really sad now. |

Dang, I hope they don't rip all you guys off.
If they do, there could be about 50 angry internet poker players out there. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I just started playing at JetSet recently and made two big scores in that Super Saturday (it was a $50 $10K Guarantee tournament that was easier than a typical $3 PokerStars event). I fortunately withdrew most of that money about a week ago and it hit Neteller a few days ago. I still have a couple hundred and a $55 entry for this week's Super Saturday that I'm betting I'll never see again, given this Baltimore Colts middle-of-the-night BS manuever. |

We will see what happens [/ QUOTE ] just chiming in some optimism as well here: I don't know how the fee structure works for poker sites and their processing cashouts via neteller/other payment methods, but I assume it is much cheaper for them to cut a check than it is to use payment processors to do this. getting their s* together and paying everybody by checks seems to make more sense than paying a bunch of fees to cash people out quickly; there is no longer market incentive for them to cash people out quickly if they aren't in business. but this is just optimism for the sake of optimism. seems like a bad beat is pretty likely too. |
