Guys, you have been a huge help to my decision, I guess it would have been better to post the question as where is the best to play poker, which I can see now is the borgatta, I guess the only other thing I wonder about is, what is the parking situations here, I mean can I just drive in and park at some kind of garage at the casino or what? Im going to vegas this December and I wanted some actual cardroom experience so I dont look like an absolute noob out there. But again thank you so much for all your commentary and discussion it really helps to understand whats going on / avoid getting pistol whipped.

I'm glad you made up your mind. Enjoy the Borgata and AC but please don't base your decision on thinking AC is a dump and your gonnna get pistol whipped. Thousands and Thousands of people every day go to atlantic City via bus car or whatever spaceship if your some of these posters.
You have the same chance of getting robbed in orange county as you do Atlantic City.

The problem here with some of the posters is they see a scruffy looking person or a black guy on the boardwalk and their hands instantly go to their wallet as they start walking away in fear. It's a joke.

Enjoy your first trip to the Borg and enjoy AC ALL THE POSTERS ARE CORRECT WHEN THEY SAY THE BORG IS THE CLASS OF AC but they are just being ignorant donks when it comes to the rest of AC. I happen to like my heroin, strippers, hookers, cocaine and LSD.

Do you happen to work for some AC tourism department? I'm from New York. I have no problem with scruffy and/or black people. AC is a dump. It has nothing to do with scary; it's dirty, and the boardwalk is nothing near charming.

Parking is no problem in AC. The casinos have garages and/or street parking available. I think it is still 5 bucks for the Borgata garage.

As for my comments on AC, if you have time checkout the boardwalk and a few of the casinos on it. If you just want to play poker, go to Borgata.

The boardwalk casinos seem to be full of the bused in sr. citizen crowd breathing through cigarettes whenever I'm down there. If thats the kind of things you're interested it, go for it.

But if you're on short time and just there to gamble, go to Borg and don't leave.

Parking is $5, and you pay on your way out at the Borgata. If you're leaving and planning on coming back that day or visiting another casino that day, get a receipt. You can use the receipt once as a transfer for free parking. It expires 6am the next day.

For first time in AC, with nothing but playing poker, go to Borgata and know that it is the best place. If you lose all your money soon, then you can hang out at the boardwalk and the other stuff like that.

Use the surface lot, the entrance to the casino from there is right by the poker room, short walk, less time wading through the 2 million slot machines. I've never used the garage, but I'm pretty sure the walk to the poker room is much longer from there. 5 bucks for parking, paid when you leave like other posters said.
