[ QUOTE ] Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, but it looks like our very own moderator and no-content-post-creator got an article published in this month's 2+2 magazine. Congratulations on becoming a published poker author, Wook! (And it's a good article too -- go forth, read, learn and prosper...) [/ QUOTE ] It's a great read, and has definitely already made me money. [/ QUOTE ] Just read it. I like it very much on several levels: 1) Good read, well-written. 2) Useful on a daily basis, not just the one time when the moon is in the 7th house and Jupiter blah blah blah. 3) Even home sick from work, my brain was able to assimilate the info without melting. Very nice Wookie! |

I'm having one of hte worst luck nights of my life, I've flopped sets about 7 times only to have them lose.
Maniacs playing K6o against my AA are hitting runner runner full houses. I've lost around 6 pots 20-30 BB where I was a huge favorite after the flop. I'm almost scared to look at my results for the night (I use tilt blocker). I'm sure I'm down at least 50-60 BB. At one table of my 4 I've played 136 hands and won 1, that's right 1 exactly. Yea, as I was typing this I picked up KK and ran into AA, on my lucky table. Update: To finish the night, -69 BB..... barf |

Royal Hold'em on UB is comedy gold. Half the people have no idea WTF is going on (which means the PFR at a lot of tables will be >80&, heh). -K [/ QUOTE ] I just got done trying that game at two tables. On the first, I thought I had it pretty well figured out, and I left while up slightly over 50%. Then I clicked in to one of the goofball tables, which 1) became shorthanded, and 2) featured from 1-3 people who would PFR with a ridiculous range of hands. Once you have fewer than 6 players, the oddities start piling up. First thing I noticed was that if you get a straight on board with no flush possible, it's a split. I actually watched people bet and sometimes raise into that board. I suppose they might hope to catch people napping, eh? I figured I had myself a minor gold mine, at least until people started figuring the game out, but the second table showed me it's possible to run really bad at this game, too. Oh, and be sure to read this blurb, starting "Truly the poker game of the new millenium," on ROYAL HOLD'EM POKER . I wonder how many people who play this know the history of the 20-card deck? |

Oh, BLAH. A Broadway straight on the board with no more than 2 of any suit is a split in Hold'em anyway. It's very late and my brain wants to shut down.

Alright, guys. Once again, the NC thread has gotten too large for our benevolent advertisers' ads to be seen, so it is once again time for a new one. Jersey Tom gets the gold star for capping off the old one. I'll kick this one off with a hand from the 2c/4c Donktacular 2+2 table last night. With my stats at 66/61/1.4 and a WtSD of 39%, I inspired some pretty interesting showdowns: PokerStars 0.02/0.04 Hold'em (6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Preflop: Hero is CO with 8, J. 2 folds, Hero raises, Button calls, 1 fold, BB 3-bets, Hero calls, Button calls. Turn: (10.75 BB) 3 (3 players) BB bets, Hero raises, Button 3-bets, BB caps, Hero calls, Button calls. River: (20.75 BB) 5 (3 players) BB bets, Hero raises, Button folds, BB calls. Final Pot: 24.75 BB Results in white below: BB has 7d 2s (one pair, twos). Hero has 8h Jh (two pair, jacks [/ QUOTE ] I see calls like that at 2/4 semi-occasionally |

Downswing after downswing, suckout after suckout, thousands of hands not making anything. If I didn't have money to motivate me I'd just quit this bitch. |
