What positive traits have you picked up from being in Thailand, surrounded by thai ppl. Basically, How have you changed?

Also, do you feel you are getting ripped off alot by "hustlers" in Thailand?

Potentially silly question but how's the climate in Thailand?

Does everyone walk around half naked? Do you sweat like a pig and have to take showers a couple times a day? Do mosquitos and the like bother you?

How cold does it get during the winter? How hot during the summer.

I was just there this past summer and it is disgustingly hot at times. If you are someone who sweats easily, you will be soaked all day if you are outside.

The Thai people are very modest and will never wear shorts and often wear long-sleeved shirts as well. It is crazy to see them completely comfortable in the heat while you are sweating your ass off in your shorts and t-shirt and looking for somewhere to cool off.

Mosquitos are not a big problem in Thailand if you are in the city but can be a small nuisance in the islands and more rural areas.

Do you know a good tailor who could make me a quality custom suit? I imagine it would be the price of a good off-the-rack suit instead of the $5kish it would cost anywhere else. I'm a little short for an American so it probably wouldn't be that out of the ordinary for him.

Have you been to any Muay Thai fights? Are there many in the cities?

Never been, don't know much about it. I've heard good things however. On Koh Samui they have them almost nightly, I know because of the trucks that go up and down the streets blaring:

'THAI BOXING, TOOOONIIIIIIITTTTTEEEE AT CHAAAWEEENNGGG STADIUM!!'

[/ QUOTE ]

I went to one in a bar in Chaing Mai and it was one of the most surreal experiences of my life. In between fights that had a sadist come out and do [censored] like light himself on fire, slice his tongue with a razor blade, drink gasoline, etc. Good times, good times.

Side note - I also got pwned by a 12 year old pool hustler there who beat me 3 out of 3 games for a total of 1000 baht.

They are all over the place here. I believe most of the suits that are made are silk.

There is a big Muay stadium here in Samui but I never went. Ive heard about some cool ones in Bangkok though.

There are MILLIONS of tailor shops all over Thailand. You can get suits dirt cheap.
