I can think of a couple of situations when I might consider folding Aces preflop. The first would be if I were playing during a thunderstorm, and the power in my house went out. The second would be if I dropped dead in the middle of the hand.*
* It should be noted however that in case 2, I would still make every effort to move all-in with my Aces. |

I would not fold pocket aces, preflop, under any circumstances. You have the best hand possible preflop and it can't get any better than this. If you don't agree with this, then you need to play poker a little bit more agressively. -HoldemPokerPlyr [/ QUOTE ] Don't be an idiot. There are tournament situations where it only makes sense to fold no matter what. e.g. you're in a satellite with an average stack and two big stacks went all in before you and you're one away from placing. |

I don't appreciate you calling me an idiot.
It depends what you want to do in a poker tournament. If you want to win a poker tournament, then you don't want to be folding aces preflop. However, if you're looking to place, then maybe there are some situations you would fold aces preflop. -HoldemPokerPlyr |

[/ QUOTE ] I think this still depends on the payout structure of the tournament. If the prize is the same for let's say the top 5 finishers (A seat in a biger event), then yes folding Aces is the correct play. However, if the prize pool is weighted toward the top, the correct play is still to call. You will make more money in the long run if you play in a way where you put yourself in a position to win the tournament. |

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone that folds AA for all the money you give me on all of your other ridiculously stupid plays.

The OP was talking about a cash game, FWIW.

In cash games you wanna look for every edge you can. There is no reason you should fold AA in any position preflop in a cash game. In a satilite is the only way with a promised seat but besides that NEVER fold AA preflop
