WOOT!

[/ QUOTE ]

Did you say "WOOT!" the last time NROG "confirmed" something? IF so, how did you react when they had to retract their confirmation in a desperate plea for action only four days later? Caution and patience, people. The more conclusive the claim, the less likely it is to remain true in a legislative environment like the one we're in right now.

[/ QUOTE ]

no, but i guess i figured that this time the nrog guy would make sure his info was reliable.

Ok, then I have a bridge I want to sell you. (kidding!! )

Sir, I am in the market for a bridge. PM details.

Wouldn't it be best for the DoD bill not to pass before elections? I by no means know anything about politics. But it would seem that if this bill doesnt pass this week, then it seems more likely to pass in the lame duck session without any attachments to it at all. And that should take up all their alloted time. Am I right?

MR.K

With all due respect. I know you have been the guy that the members all turn to for information and believe me...guys like you are very valuable in getting this message out, but NROG is a highly active lobbying group with a large team of people on Capitol Hill. Your information is coming from a newspaper (CingressDaily)...ours is coming from inside sessions with the actual players in this fight. Our team just got out of very sensitive meetings with these sources and NROG can confirm the accuracy of our statement. Again, we reported this over a week ago but when news stories started swirling late last week about another attempt we began to question our sources. Nothing has changed. Warner and Levin would not allow the legislation to be attached. Frist made a few other minor attempts but decided this was not something he could continue on with at least through election.

Now...let me be clear. This fight is NOT over.. And you're absolutely right...it's Washington...ANYTHING can happen. What we're releasing today is information confirming that this DoD bill is clean of anti-gambling language and at least until lame duck in November there is not expected to be any further action on it. We are in NO WAY saying we’ve won.

I am the messenger...you need not believe what we say. In fact...I agree we should all stay panicked and keep our calls going. The moment we let our guard down something horrible will happen.

We reported it a week ago and are happy to confirm today that it is true.

Jay,

Please stop rolling the two-sided good or bad dice and wait for confirmation of any developments. It's now become annoying.

Seriously, if one person becomes complacent because you pop off with a quote from "a very close source" then you have done a great disservice to the cause you claim to be fighting for.

This is so basic that it makes me wonder what you do with all that money people are sending you.

Tuco.

One of Frist's aides sounds skeptical that the gambling bill will pass.

nrog, what is it that makes you think it's unlikely Frist will continue to pursue this even with other bills in the lame duck session?

Think he said it is unlikely until the lame duck session.

Double check the second to last paragraph. He is saying this isn't over yet. Perhaps we have caught a breather to regroup and fight again (if DOD bill is clean.)

Can I just say that as a hard working member of an organization trying to defend your rights I'm horrified by your statements. Thankfully there are tens of thousands who have taken this seriously and joined our fight. NROG is trying to reach out in new ways that other groups haven't (i.e. these forums) to bring you the latest, as we have it, on this fight. We thought you would appreciate a group, directly inside Washington, giving you the information in real-tme, good or bad, rather than reading news stories on the internet that are outdated. We, along with numerous other MAJOR news publications, did not make a mistake on anything las week. Our release (confirmation) regarding the failed attempt was CORRECT. News started to swirl that there may have been something else going on so we warned everybody that the fight may not be over. We were correct, however. And we will continue to share information with you...if you want it. If you'd rather rely on your sources here, NROG will certainly leave you alone. We're not here to make enemies. We're here to rally support so the next time an organization does a phone march on Washington we dont show the nation that we have a 2" penis by only producing a few thousand calls. Last time I checked there were MILLIONS of registered online gambling accounts in the US...3,000 troops is hardly enough to get Congress to pay attention.

My wording was a little off - nrog said:

[ QUOTE ]
Sen Frist has no intention of acting on this legislation before elections. A source very close to Frist also told NROG today that the Senator may attempt to try something during the lame duck session but "..it doesn't look like this bill is going anywhere this year."
