OP, are you sure you don't have an absessed tooth? It sounds just like that. I had one of those and it was the worst pain I've ever had.

It would have to be either the torn ACL or the shingles. The ACL was an intense burning at the knee and a constant throbbing. The shingles felt like somebody connected power cables directly to the pain center on my left side and would periodically flip the switch. And they itch too.
