NL Holdem at the Muckleshoot?

Believe it.

The lower limit games at mucks aren't as maniacal as the smaller rooms. Where the 3-6 and 4-8s can get wild, mucks is usually pretty tame. Which is kind of odd. But they're not that much of action junkies at that limit. After all, they took the kill off the 3-6 games and only spread the kill on 'some' 4-8s.

I thought PJs was spreading a smaller spread game. ($25 max bet) But not sure how often it goes, if it does.

I can see your point. This last weekend I spotted a maniac sitting 4/8 (w/kill) and got myself changed to that table. Imagine my delight to find that he had a maniac buddy and they were driving some action between them (4 way capped turn on a kill pot, AKJ9 board and pocket 8s wins it at showdown). While I was sitting there thinking 'This is great! What a turkey shoot!' I noticed a number of players coming and going, some commenting on 'too much action for me'.

That being said, it seems like even in Vegas that a lot of the rooms are spreading much less mid-limit HE these days and more 1/2NL and 2/5NL. Take the MGM Grand for example...

This isn't Vegas. Or AC. Or a big 'gambling' destination for anyone.

The player pool(and player turnover rate), imo, isn't deep enough to really support alot of mid limit spread game action for a long time(the pool isn't really that deep for 20-40). Especially in multiple rooms.

To me it seems the biggest problem right now in WA is ignorance of the fact that Tribal casino's such as the muckleshoot, Red Wind, Tualip, etc are allowed to run NL games. There are an abundance of card rooms in WA 90% of which are mini-casinos spreading 3/6 4/8 limit or bowling alley's who run dealers choice games and charge time.

I believe there are tons of people who would make the extra 10 min drive to play a 1/2 2/5 NL game if they knew that option was viable.

Bottom Line is they don't and they stick to the mind numbing drag of 3/6 4/8 over and over like zombies following a trail of brains.

Zpin started this thread to see if there were people within an hours drive of the muckleshoot who would be willing to help us start that N/L game.

Things don't happen by magic if we want to get that NL game going it's going to take work.

Non tribals can run a spread limit game also. It's just only up to $25 max bet. Tribals still can't run an actual 'no limit' game.

Not sure what casinos are charging time right now.

Casino's are not charging time. Some of the bowling alleys with cardrooms are charging time but the players deal.

And tualip does run a No Limit Texas Holdem: Yes (sort of, max bet $500)
$1/2 ($200 max buyin), $2/5 ($300 max buyin)

This is about some of the average NL games you would find in Vegas or AC.
So ONCE AGAIN tribals can spread NL games it's just the masses in WA are ignorant to the diffrences in rules between tribals and mini-casinos. And this is what's keeping us from starting our NL game at the muck.

If you've ever played an actual no limit game, there is a quite a difference from real n/l and a spread limit. Especially when you have about $2k+ in front of you.

It's not like they've never tried to start a game at the muck. It's not like most regular players(Lil's and mucks) haven't heard about the Tulalip spread game. Many play both. For some reason, even on busy nights, the game never takes. Usually stops with about 4-6 players on the list. However, one thing that might help is if they showed it more prominently on the board.

Last year the week of Christmas I was in town to see my family, and my wife and I managed to get down to the muck with my brother. As an aside the was the first and only time I've been to the muck, as I moved away from Seattle before I started playing Casino level poker. It was probably the Friday night before new years. I played in a decent 7-handed 50-100 game while I waited for my 10-20 seat so I could play with my brother (his regular game). I actually wanted to stay in the 50, but I was there to play with my bro. On to my question; is the 50 a regular game at the muck? Is it still spread? Did I just luck out and happen to show up when an unusually high game was running? I'd actually like to play the game again one night when I'm in town next time.

They actually do still have the 50-100 (with 100/200 overs) on Tues & Thurs. Apparently it can get quite juicy at times (heard about a woman last week burning through $17K with action that sounded more like a typical 3/6 game)

Yeah, it can be a sweet game. If that chick is who I'm thinking of, I heard she left the room in tears.

Once in awhile I heard they move it to Tulalip. But it used to run on Tues and Thurs regularly. They seem to run a 50-100 quite often, though. Not sure if it runs on the weekend. You can always call and find out if one is going or if any names are on the list for it.

Sometimes they'll have a 200-400 game going. But not as often.
