That can happen on a low-end machine and also on mahcines with certain video cards and certain video configurations.

Try this:

Under "Game Rules & Options" / "Video & Audio Options", turn off (uncheck) everything, especially "Chip & Card Movement".

If turning off the video/audio options didn't help, then phone Party tech support.

I contacted party support and here's what they gave me. Suffice to say I followed their step-by-step solution and it didn't change anything.

In order to resolve this issue please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Do a disk clean up.

To carry out a Scan Disk follow the appropriate steps below for your version of Windows:

Microsoft Windows ME or Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows 95

1. Click Start, click Run and type 'scandisk' in the
run box and click 'Ok'.
2. In the scandisk window select the drive that you
wish to be checked.
3. Choose the option between 'standard'
and 'through'. It is recommended you run standard
first, if you encounter issues with scandisk then
run the 'through' scan.
4. Finally click 'Start' to begin scandisk.

Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows 2000

1. Double Click the 'My Computer' icon.
2. Right Click on the drive that you wish to scan and then click on 'Properties'.
3. Click on 'Tools', and then on 'Check Now'.
4. Click on both options and then on 'Start'.

Once you have completed the above mentioned steps please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall and reinstall in a different folder.

As I understand, you are experiencing difficulties accessing our site. In order to resume playing you will need to uninstall and then reinstall our software.

IMPORTANT: Before you uninstall the software ensure you copy the Notes.txt file from the installation folder on to your desktop.
1) Close all Windows.
2) Right click on the 'PartyPoker' icon on the desktop.
3) Click on 'Properties'
4) Click on the 'Find Target' button
5) Double click on the PartyPoker folder
6) Right click on the 'Notes' file and click on 'Copy'. Close all the windows.
7) Right Click on the Desktop and click on 'Paste'

If you do not save it, the notes you made through the "Add Player Notes" option will be lost.

To uninstall the software:
1. Click 'Start', point to 'Settings', click on 'Control Panel', and then double-click on the
'Add/Remove Programs'.
2. Select 'PartyPoker', and click on 'Change/Remove' to remove our software from your system.
3. From your desktop delete the 'PartyPoker' icon.
4. Open 'My Computer' and browse to "C:\", then delete "C:\PartyGaming" folder (unless you renamed it something different when you installed it the last time).
5. In 'My Computer', open "C:\Program Files" where you will see another folder called 'PartyGaming', delete this folder also.

To reinstall the software:
1. Go to our website, click on "Click here to download and play now" to download the software.
2. Save the setup file to the desktop.
3. Double-click on the saved setup file to start the installation procedure.
4. Change the default installation directory from "C:\Program Files\PartyGaming" to "C:\PartyGaming".

Once you have reinstalled the software you will have to add the Player Notes:

->Right click on the Notes.txt file that you saved on the Desktop and click on Copy
->Right click on the 'PartyPoker' icon on the desktop.
->Click on 'Properties'
->Click on the 'Find Target' button
->Now the installation folder opens, Double Click on the PartyPoker folder, click on Edit and click on Paste.

We would also recommend you to avoid using other applications while playing on Party Poker.

If you still face any difficulties please e-mail me back and I will be assisting you furhter in resolving this issue.

That crap is such a joke. It's their standard line to fix pretty much every problem.

I'm having the same thing: 100% CPU usage. I was using GT+, PartyPlanner, DeMonster and PT while having the problem. I just switched today to PAHUD instead of GT and am still having 100% CPU usage.

Is the problem PostreSQL by chance? This started happening for me right around that time.

There is no problem with Postgres; however, Postgres is yet another set of processes that will consume CPU. That is one disadvantage of using Postgres over Access, but I think most will agree the advantages heavily outweight the disadvantages...

I don't see how. You can have a bigger database. That's pretty much it unless you do all those fancy postgre querries.
