I think this is definately required at Stars and is a great idea. Obviously basing points on top 3 is a must as well, as curtains said.
However, Sheetsworld also raises a good point about multi players on an account, and i can't think of a way around this |

It just makes it less likely you will win this new prize. Also it's possible that these players will be disqualified. |

Another note: Stars could do it like half volume based and half results based. I guess I mean they could set it up so you lose points if you do poorly. I'm not sure what the best ratio is though or whether thats even a good idea from a business standpoint.

[/ QUOTE ] curtains, yes, i think that a few bright people should be able to come up with a way of making a system that actually shows something like sng skill or whatever. stars can decide if they want to have it be something close to "money won by playing sngs" or if they want it to be just a point accumulaton (which wouldn't gaurantee that a losing player doesn't win), or some other method of some sort. personally i dno, i mean, i think that a player who plays 5000 $200 sngs and makes like 20k should like, lose to a player who plays 5000 $10 sngs and wins $20k, etc, and i think that it would take me about 1/2 an hour or less to come up with a good formula for point distribution once presented with a few "rules" like: 1) same stakes, more profit, fewer games, wins 2) lower stakes more profit, same games, wins etc so i don't think stars should have a problem generating a system, regardless of if they want to make it competitive to party's (which of course is great for the cardroom because it inspires people to play 3k games in a month), or if they want some hybrid that is less volume based. i guess my point is that any system should take into account volume, but not make it the determining factor above say, winning money. citanul |

would heads up sngs count? what about 90/180 person sngs? it seems like both should.
i think sheets brought up a reasonable point, but like curtains said, i dont think it will be an issue since stars can dq someone rather easily. |

Why should a good player be favored?
It's the bad players that need the extra money most Well, anyway, the good players is favored at PP cause you have to finish 1st or 2nd so a player with less games and more 1st and 2nd can finish better than a bad player with loads of games. Also the points is good at PP cause you can grind the $11 or $22 and still get 1st. It would be totally useless if only top $530 sng players could finish 1st... I mean $5500 feels lika a million to me and I doubt it feels like that for a $530 player. |

I think that Pokerstars, in the interest of rake generation, will likely reward volume.
(Not that there's anything wrong with that) sheets |
