I'm really sad that Le Pain Quotidien no longer serves their duck pate open-faced sandwich.

I love those as well.

A couple of years ago they started making them again, but they were charging about $4 a box. They must have stopped becase noe one would pay that much.

Just to show how old I am, I will bring up a candy bar that was discontinued before most of you were born.

The Reggie Bar

It actually didn't taste that great. It tended to taste better if you left it half-opened overnight. But just the fact that it was named after Reggie Jackson made it great.

Hardee's period, for that matter... There are hardly any Hardee's left in my hood. :-(

Title is "Great foods or products", so don't hate me for steering away from food.

Just watched "California Split" (thanks, NetFlix!), and was delighted to be reminded of Gillette's The Hot One. This was shaving cream that would heat up once you spread it on your face. I don't know if it was radioactive, or what. My father had a case of this stuff in the basement, which I presume he bought when he heard they were going to stop making it. I hated it when we used up the last of it.

And BTW, I don't think Qisp had a "u" in it.

I love this movie. I used to watch it once a week.

Vanilla Jello pudding pops were great. Can't find them in NYC anymore.

Also, does anyone remember Milk Mate (chocolate syrup)? I loved that stuff when I was a kid.

Good thread, btw.

My wife wants me to post this one for her:

I remember when the Charles' Chip man came by in the delivery truck once a week (like the old milk man)...
