First: Longtime reader, first time poster. I've learned a good bit from all of you that respond to hand history posts.

Second: My poker skill is questionable at the moment. Although I've won 3 of 5 live tournaments I've been in and final tabled the other two(all were in July and I would continue to play them but the casino poker room here was shut down), and I had tripled my online bankroll over three months, I've been running real bad the last month, started playing bad as a result, and then lost my entire online bankroll. (As a side note: I find it difficult to stay disciplined online, but not live).

third: I'm not going to say online poker is rigged or not, I don't know it for a fact and everyone posting here doesn't either unless you've had certain priveledged access. The motive and the means are, however, certainly there.

But here are two things, coincidences if you will, I have noticed at Poker Stars that certainly have raised my eyebrows:

1)If I run Poker Office overlay, my starting hands are always much worse. I will go hours without getting one single premium starting hand(AA-JJ, AKs, AQs) or will get them very occassionally, like maybe one every two hours. One an hour is like throwing me a bone, but never more. Turn off the overlay, they come in what appears to be the normal rate with standard variance.

2)If I am multi-tabling and if the cards are being dealt at a nearly identical time on 2 or more tables, they will be in the same or very similar rank. For instance, if one table is ATo, the other table will be ATo or A9s. If one table is 72, the other is 53. It SEEMS to happen very often and that is the kind of coincidence that is not very likely.

I can easily see, however, that these could very well just be coincidences I am noticing and that online poker is still either rigged or legit.

Zkoeske,

I understand where you are coming from. In June I went on a sweet run and ran 2K into 36K, although I did this by taking shots at higher levels. Then July came, and I haven't been able to win for the life of me. I've now dropped back to the same level I started at. I'm still up, but no where near where I was.

Where's the middle ground?

I'm at a loss to explain it as well. Is it just bad luck that three times you lose QQ to AK; 2 times JJ to AK; then three times you lose AK to A4, 77, 99? All, of course, in one session. Even if you admit to playing bad, where are your fluke-outs? Now over one session, this will happen. But over ten sessions?

Is online rigged? I can't see why it would be. The house makes far too much money raking the game. Is the RNG really random? How would I know? All I know is that bad luck can be a real b*tch. Nothing goes right. Yesterday I got called down by QJ on a board of A 4 4 5 3. Yep he won. I can't even bluff now. I hadn't even been at the table long, and I hadn't been the aggressor. That's the way it goes.

Is online rigged? I vote no.

Does luck exist? Absolutely. I don't care what anyone says. There are unlucky people out there. Me, i'm extreme. Either very lucky, or very unlucky. No in-between.

I grinded 2K into 30K playing baccarat, then hit a 70K slot jackpot at a casino after 5 pulls. (I'm no slot player either.) I then took the 100K and grinded it up to 200K.

All very good luck. And then. The switch.

I lost 200K in one session playing baccarat. Virtually a 50-50 game (one of the best odds for table games in any casino), and I proceeded to lose 28 out of 30 hands. In all my "grinding" I never came anywhere NEAR winning that kind of percentage. I challenge anyone to TRY and lose that many hands. And yet it happened.

I took some time off after that one. Came back, only to lose 18 of 20 hands at baccarat, and the 6K I had brought.

I took some more time off. Came back, only to lose another 5K. Another 90% losing streak. It got so bad, that other players at the table would just bet the opposite of me.

I took more time off.

Returned to poker. The Switch was reversed. I ran $250 into $16K. Then the switch again. I recognized it. Cashed out at with $12,500.

Took some time off. Switch.

Ran 2k into 36K (as i said) ... which is where i am now.

When you are unlucky, don't take shots at higher levels. Drop back. When the luck changes, take shots.

I think the Man above has a wicked sense of humour, and particularly likes to play with gamblers.

This thread has gone on long enough, I suggest you drop it, or these guys will come over to your house and kick your butt (they are in on it btw)

They'll give you a "Stars Special"

(Raymer beats you up, while Moneymaker ruins your credit and bank accounts, and Hachem has sex with your wife or girlfriend)

*I haven't read all the posts*

I really wish that someone took the time to make something like Poker Academy play a couple of million hands and then take a look at the swings that the various players has.

Ideally this would be done several times with different kinds of opponents (just to factor in the fact that you will sometimes be playing against someone with a VP$IP of 88).

Coming soon, "Party is rigged" by our hero OP.

Look for exciting inside information written in a completely unreadable format.

Could you people not quote obscenely long posts?

And OP is really dumb.

That's all.
