Not bonus whoring and not playing your best game both sound like big mistakes to me.

Especially since O/8 is a great bonus clearing game as a solid strategy at the lower limits can result in many many raked hands with little risk.

You could easily get $500 in bonuses which would get you 1/6 of the way to your goal.
