Anything less then chopping the prizepool in accordance with their T&C at 752 and I am going to withdraw, cancel, and pursue this farther with whatever proper avenues I can identify.
I say it again, this is exactly the kind of thing that Congress is going to wrap its arms around. |

I had about 60k with 752, which was comfortably above average. I sat there frozen as the nearly 100 people got eliminated with a screen that read "tournament paused." A friend of mine opened my table and told me that some of the people were there, but most were in post/fold mode including me. I relogged and the action went live again. At that point, maybe 5 or 6 people seemed to actually be live and two of the people who were shortstacks before the issues now had over 80k. I finished up the rest of the tournament and was busted by one of the shortstacks who had taken advantage of the dead money created by the techincal difficulties.

[/ QUOTE ] That goes along with what my comgressman said when he wrote back to me about HR4411: [ QUOTE ] Thank you for getting in touch with me to share your concerns about legislation dealing with Internet gambling. I appreciate your taking the time to write, and I apologize for the delay in my response. With the massive growth in the Internet gambling industry over the last several years, we have also seen an increase in opportunities for consumer fraud, largely stemming from offshore gambling sites. This is why I recently voted for H.R. 4411-also known as the Internet Gambling Prohibition and Enforcement Act. I think it will help protect consumers from illegal activities stemming from these offshore gambling sites by giving the Department of Justice sufficient resources to investigate and prosecute them. I also believe that this legislation struck the right balance between fighting the negative impact of illegal Internet gambling enterprises and continuing to promote electronic commerce. Thanks again for contacting me. To do my job well, I need to hear from my fellow Coloradans. For more information, please visit my website at www.house.gov/markudall . [/ QUOTE ] I fear this is exactly the kind of crap he is referring to, among other crap like kids stealing dad's credit card etc. |

I have no idea how they got this number. |

I have like 5 different support email threads with them. Since they all claim the tournament wasn't "cancelled" until there were around 250 left (i.e., they say I "played" until I lost and therefore only get the amount at the level I went out on), I always ask how Party is compensating me for the time I was unable to play and was blinded down due to Party's software problems. I have received no further responses on any of those threads after posing that question.

Email Response From Mike O'Malley - Poker Room Manager, Party Gaming
Posted with Mike's permission: [ QUOTE ] Hi Lloyd, Thanks for bringing this to my attention. As you might expect, I had several other emails about it. Feel free to post my comments below. Bad timing had me leaving the states at about the exact time that the Sunday Million had problems. I wasn’t able to 'catch up' and wade through everything until late today (Tuesday). The tournament (as well as some others on the same server) experienced problems with 753 players remaining. As is standard policy, an attempt to restart the tournament was made. The tournament did successfully restart, but then had problems again. A restart was done two more times, and the end result was that while it was restarted and paused, several people were not able to play, didn’t play, or had logged off. The good news is that as a result of these problems there has been a technical issue that has been identified and will be corrected. We also have instituted a new policy regarding the restarting of tournaments. I was able to pull some numbers late today and start to figure out the best way to correct the payouts. The process in doing this is somewhat tedious and takes us manually pouring through some numbers. I will have a solution that everyone should be happy with by the end of day tomorrow (Wednesday). [/ QUOTE ] Like I've said, I have serious issues with Party Poker, their software, and many of the decisions that have been made. But like Zinzan said, at the end of the day I have always found them to be responsible if you get to the right person. That's obviously a huge flaw in the system but certainly better than nothing. Give Mike the time that he has asked for and I have faith that he'll come through for people. No guarantees of course, but I've found him to be a very stand up guy in the past when I've brought issues to his attention. And again, I have no financial interest in this at all. The stupid Party software gave me 2 huge bad beats to knock me out early. I'm still trying to get them to fix that problem. But this was obviously a problem that affected many 2+2ers so I wanted to give whatever assistance I could to bringing a satisfactory resolution. |

It's nice to see their manager paying attention to this. But seeing you people settling for $215 entries makes me cringe.

That's the first positive sign, thanks Lloyd.
Hopefully Mike understands that not only is this an opportunity to correct a problem with their crappy software, but also to insitute some sort of customer service review that educates their CSRs not to talk to their customers like they are greedy idiots when all they are trying to do is get Party to do what is so obviously right. I am cautiously optimistic. We will see what happens. |

I really want to play at Party, and will return if they treat everyone equitably and demonstrate that they will protect our fair equity going forward.
