I think that all went with how Jerry wanted the show to end on a high note. Not saying the Kramer show would have been bad, but the image he created with Seinfeld ending on top has had people wanting more for years (more fame/more money). I think thats what made him a genius, he knew he hit the high point and got out of there, just like in vegas.
