Meh, they didn't mention what was going on in the hand. If he had a royal and someone pushed into him and the lightning made him fold, then....

No, even that doesn't beat $40k lost to a one-outer at a $2/$4 table. He would have had to have died.

And then it would have been close.

Bad Beat Jackpot: when quad eights or better lose, the jackpot is paid. The lion's share of the jackpot goes to the losing hand. Caveat: both cards in both player's hands must be in play.

So (99)99 losing to (78)9TJ straight flush qualifies; the flush Q counterfeits the winning hand, making it a slightly-better five-card straight flush that only uses ONE hole card....

...and it's all over but for the crying, and probably the buying of a new monitor to replace the one with the fist-hole.

Exactly! This is why BBV has stickied the post and basically declared that Kumubou has officially won BBV.

Until the actual HH has been posted so we can verify it wasn't made up, I remain skeptical. People have posted "where's the HH?" multiple times and their requests quietly go unanswered.

I moved up to 10NL today. I was a little bit nervous, but this hand assured me there are just as many donks, they're just losing more money. Reraise to isolate is good, no?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com

MP ($6.69)
CO ($1.65)
Button ($3.33)
SB ($2.27)
BB ($3.77)
Hero ($12.63)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Hero raises to $0.2, MP calls $0.20, 3 folds, BB raises to $3.77 (all-in), Hero raises to $12.63 (all-in), MP folds.

Flop: ($16.62) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)

Turn: ($16.62) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

River: ($16.62) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

Final Pot: $16.62

Results below:
