[ QUOTE ] anyways, MS Sunshine, what are you trying to acheive by bringing up this topic everytime Dutch goes deep in a MTT? [/ QUOTE ] Maybe he just likes to vent. Or maybe he likes to let the noobs who see Boyd on TV and think he's a cool guy know what a POS he really is. Whatever. Why do you open the thread if you have a problem with it? [/ QUOTE ] kdog.....Boyd also owes me money from that site. I still have his POS emails with his BS rationalizations as to why he couldn't pay me. I have no problem at all with MS bringing up the past history of this scumbag for no other reason than there are so many newbies to the game who do not know his history. I avoid him at all costs for fear that my Sicilian temper would get the best of me, and I would later regret my actions. |

are you also a lazy [censored] too? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, I am lazy. But I think most people here underestimate how difficult it is to actually collude/cheat. Sklansky was going to write a book about it to help people identify cheaters, but he decided not to. You can see all the references he makes about how the strategy is not as clear as it might seem. Christ, learn to read you idiots. |

I never depositted on PokerSpot, but I can guarentee that if $56K went out the window for me I would definely hate the guy responsible for it. It may not be a fortune but it's still better then a whole [censored] years salary. If I find the guy who pick pocketted $10 lousy dollars out of my pocket I'd knock his ass out just because he was scummy enough to do such a thing. If the guy was bigger then me then I'd just have to get my ass kicked for it. Call me an angry guy if you want, but I'm a mellow guy unless people [censored] with my property or family or friends. I would say I keep it real, but I'm white kid from a middle class family that grew up in the suburbs so I don't think I qualify. |

Christ, learn to read you idiots. [/ QUOTE ] Acknowledge your candor in admitting your laziness....What about your ethical stance? .....c'mon, now....please don't blow smoke up my skirt. It is not difficult at all to collude/cheat. It MAY be difficult to do it at a level where the benefits are greater than the risks in a live game. But when you take the restraints of live cheating away by virtue of the dynamics of internet poker play, the opportuntity for generating profit expands at an exponential level. FWIW,in the years that I've played online (since before there were real money sites), I've nailed a number of colluders. After reporting them and having the sites investigate, they concluded that my suspicions were accurate, and confiscated their funds and banned them from the sites. Now.....I'm a decent player and have been at it for a while, and it is my opinion that if & when solid/above-average players who understand the intricasies of the game get together and collude, not only does their EV increase at a much greater rate than the dubs who do it, but the ability of even the sharpest observers to pickup on what's going on decreases tremendously. Bottom Line? You can rationalize until the cows come home, but I ain't buying it. |

anyways, MS Sunshine, what are you trying to acheive by bringing up this topic everytime Dutch goes deep in a MTT? [/ QUOTE ] He's helping to make sure it doesn't happen to you. This behavior typifies the posters that registered in 02, and all of us owe them a great debt. Without Lori, MS Sunshine, and yes, GrannyMae (deal with it), many more people would have been scammed by Dutch, Mary, and many imitators. It's ok to dislike any of the above, but if you can't recognize that they've helped as many people as the early strategy posters that built the other boards on this forum, you're blind or a fool. It is not difficult at all to collude/cheat. It MAY be difficult to do it at a level where the benefits are greater than the risks in a live game. [/ QUOTE ] It is difficult to do it well enough so you cannot be caught, and it is difficult to do it to get a real advantage. Obviously things like chip dumping and best hand play are simple enough, but that is extremely easy to catch and just plain stupid to try. [ QUOTE ] You can rationalize until the cows come home, but I ain't buying it. [/ QUOTE ] The bottom line is that I spent a better part of a year busting colluders and enjoyed throwing them off the site, but I still don't believe in absolute morality. I don't let personal beliefs get involved with business. You can all say that X is wrong and Y is reprehensible, but I prefer not to cast judgement, because we all have a lot of character flaws. He who shall throw the first stone, etc. |

Dutch Boyd hasn't opened a pokerroom. So exactly what are we being protected from? And while I am sure GrannyMae has many wonderful qualities, teaching us to avoid being scammed isn't one of them. At least not in any other quality than as an example of what not to do. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] |

[ QUOTE ] 1. i'm sure the serious players in kyle's micro game do not appreciate being cheated, and many have perhaps not graduated to bigger fish because kyle thought it would be a hoot to be a freaking cheatscum. [/ QUOTE ] I did that about, oh, I dunno, five years ago when I first started playing poker. I haven't done it since, mainly because cheating is way too much work for so little benefit. When I worked at Stars I saw how easy it was to bust people that did stuff like this, and the tons of work you have to put into cheating without being detected is better served by actually learning how to play poker or get good at something else. [/ QUOTE ] you empty headed animal food trough wiper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! |
