Default I\'m rusty.

I used to play omaha for some time, but switched over to stud and a bit of holdem for a year. Now I'm trying to come back and feel a bit rusty.

The table is very tight. Hardly any pre-flop raises, one loose-passive fish (not the villain in this hand), the rest are weak-tight nut peddlers.

Party Poker
Pot Limit Omaha Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
10 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls, Hero raises to $0.75, 3 folds, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls.

Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($4.5, 6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets $4.3, 2 folds, BB calls, 2 folds.

Turn: J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($13.1, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $12.45, BB raises all-in $29.43

Now what ? The table is so tight, in an unraised pot this would've been an easy fold. But with 18bb pre-flop, BB might feel its time to fight back with less then the nuts. Check-call on the flop really gives me no information. Can't for the life of me put him on a hand. Could've been slowplaying tens full. Could've had trip nines drawing to spike the kicker. I can even see a straight draw - normally the table is too tight to be drawing to a straight on a paired board, but he could well think he is live, since "the raiser has aces".

To me this says that you are up against JJxx and drawing to the case 9. If he was slowplaing TT you are still beat and he is probably pushing hoping you made a str8 and are willing to defend it. Since he is all in I say fold you are beat and you can't move him off his hand now. I think its a simple fold here.

People draw to straights all the time on paired boards in the $25 Party games. I would put all my money in here 100% of the time when the stacks are not deep. The next time you post a hand, please leave the stack information in.

25 PLO the table is so tight.

This is your problem. Go at another table. I'm even trying to figure out what 25 PLO table I've ever been at is so tight. Usually it's at least 2 total donks who almost never fold preflop minimum.

Oh and I go broke here unless he's a total nit. Those guys could have a ton of hands here you beat.

Don't know how to use that converter very well.
Anyway, the relevant stacks are a bit deeper then starting 100bb. I have $37.55, villain has $34.23 after posting the big blind.

I know that party $25 donks draw to straights on paired boards all the time, but I made a point of looking for a tighter table. I can peddle the nuts just fine, looking to learn the LAG style.

Well I must say I don't play party that much. Although I recently was drawn back when they put $20 in my account for free(it was empty) which is now up to $275ish. If Rempel says people draw to str8s all the time at that level then I will respect that but in my experience when the guy does that to me I am drawing to the case 9. It has happened to me plenty of times. So that is why I said fold, especially if your read is he is a good player.

There are exactly 4 combinations of cards that beat him - 3x TT and 1x JJ. He raised preflop, his opponent has no reason to believe he has a full house. If you routinely fold in this kind of spot it's a huge leak.

I would call here for reasons Rempel mentioned. I also think you are exercising very poor table selection if the best you could find was a $25 PLO table with 7 nits

I agree with Rempel. After some pondering, the fact that I was the pre-flop raiser swayed my decision. He could be playing back at preflop raiser with a lot less then third nut full house.

Well, at least nobody can accuse me of result oriented thinking. I got stacked off with tens full.

Small side comment on my game selection. The table was great for my purpose - trying to lag it up without going up to the levels that can hurt my bankroll. From what I hear, as you move up the nut peddlers ARE the fish, and the winning players are the ones who steal pot after pot from them.

Folding to the cr is a huge mistake. The pot is very big and you may be freerolling. If you were planning to fold then just check behind on the turn: he has at most 3 outs to scoop if he is drawing, and he may make a second best hand that he expects is good because you checked the turn.
