The ending of the original Friday The 13th where the child Jason jumps out of the water, forced me to rethink an upcoming Boy Scout canoe trip. My father made me go anyway, but I was terrified. [/ QUOTE ] Good call. I still cringe when this scene is coming up. |

I was deathly afraid of ET. [/ QUOTE ] Me too. In fact, I cannot think of another movie that really scared me at all. But I closed my eyes or covered my face during most of ET, and for years after was scared of aliens any time I was alone in the dark. Of course, I was also scared of robbers. And strangers. So I don't know if it's entirely fare to blame ET. But yeah, that movie scared the crap out of me. |

The most scared I have ever been in a movie theater is when I saw PEE WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE when I was 6 years old. The scene that got me was when Pee Wee hitched a ride with Large Marge and her eyeballs popped out of her head after she told him the story of the dead trucker. I jumped out of my seat and ran to my Mom who was sitting in the row behind me. I was petrified for at least a full day after that.
EDIT: [ QUOTE ] The Large Marge scene in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. [/ QUOTE ] LOL, I responded before I read the thread. I thought I was the only one. |

When I was a kid, I got really freaked out by a film called "Horror Express". It had Peter Cushing in it and was about a monster that was found frozen and was taken back on a train but thawed out on the way and started killing everyone. The thing that scared me was the way that the monster wipes clean the brains of its victims (literally - they took the top of a skull off a victim and the brain was smooth). Urrrgh!
Horror Express Also, there was a scene in Carry On Screaming that bothered me, when the professor regenerates Oddbod Junior using just a finger as a starting point! Scarey stuff for someone under 10! Carry On Screaming |

Didn't the bike operation scene dream sequence scare anyone also? [/ QUOTE ] For sure, but nothing topped Large Marge. ![]() EDIT: Now that I think about it, I was also terrified of puppet game show host Guy Smiley on Sesame Street. I was convinced he was going to touch my private parts. No idea why I associated that puppet with that, but I was terrified.

As a child, I was terrified by the MGM lion. This made watching Tom & Jerry cartoons difficult. [/ QUOTE ] I'm glad i'm not the only one. The opening scene to ghostbusters, in the library, where the ghost suddenly freaks scared me a lot as a child. |

And what was that movie with an evil robot that looked like a wine opener? The kind where you screw it in, then push down on the handles to pull out the cork. [/ QUOTE ] There was a robot in a movie called The Black Hole that looked like a wine bottle opener... |
