Logically explaining this to your parents will not work.
They don't care about poker, they care about you. Don't answer their questions directly, but don't lie either. Just joke around and say you make a few bucks and play for fun.

You never need to explain yourself to anyone. And if you have any common sense, don't ever talk about actual dollar amounts.

IMHO, you are getting way too serious about this.
