Second, you need to realize that attacking the flag, the pledge of allegience and other symbols ARE personal attacks against those of us who served to save your chicken sh!t ass.

[/ QUOTE ]

Someone saying they believe the pledge of allegiance should be abolished is a personal attack on all US soliders? Unbelievable. The audacity to have an opinion on such things! Nothing should ever change, cos dammit that's not what we fought for.

Oh, and fool chickensh1t vasectomy. Oooo that feels good. Big man.

How old are you, little man?

Apparently not old enough to have served during Vietnam.
Apparently not old enough to have lost a brother in Vietnam.
Apparently not old enough to have 3 good friends and 200+ colleagues die in the WTC.
Apparently not old enough to understand much at all.

Youre damn right, an attack on the country is an attack on those with the respect to defend her with our lives and the lives of our families. You live in a sheltered world of "ideas". We live in the real world.

[/ QUOTE ]

Dude, a suggestion that the Pledge of Allegiance in schools isn't necessary or is in some way harmful may be something you forcefully disagree with, but it isn't an "attack on the country" or people that have served it. Get a grip. I'm extremely sorry for any personal losses you've suffered. But they aren't relavent to debating such an issue and bringing them up doesn't strenghten your point.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ignoring what this part of the thread is about doesnt strengthen your point.

The pledge should have been deleted eons ago.

It doesnt say "not in schools", it says "deleted". The day the PoA, Flag and Anthem are "deleted" (for who knows what hypothetical infringemet on rights) is the day that the deconstruction of the country's values has succeeded. And some idiot poster will jump up and down about his Constitutional rights, and ignore the value of reinforcing belief in the country and its founding priciples. Hypocrtical cowards.

In the past I was strongly opposed to a draft. After reading this board and some blogs, I think mandatory service of some kind is necessary to right this sinking ship.
