From the nature and tone of many of the responses to you're question, it seems safe to assume that most people who felt the same way would not post it as so. I suggest an anonymous poll to garner a more accurate tally.

Personally, I don't feel the same way about it as you do. I can make or lose $500-1000 playing poker in a few hours sometimes, so spreading out some joy for a whole year and keeping everybody around me happy for that same amount seems worth it to me.
