TRADE: Boston deals D Nick Boynton and a 4th round pick in 2007 to Phoenix for D Paul Mara and a 3rd in 2007 or 2008.
This deal was rumored to be happening at the draft but didn't go down on Saturday. Mara's from Boston (well, born in Ridgewood, NJ) and Boston seems to love acquiring these kinds of players - good offensive upside. Boynton's a better defensive defenseman.
Mantooth, I think Lupien and Luongo are testing the UFA market next summer. I don't think Vancouver has any intention of retaining Luongo long-term.
